PHOENIX – A Maricopa County grand jury has indicted 19-year-old Rudy Sanchez Jr. for his alleged involvement in a road rage shooting that left a woman injured in Peoria earlier this month, officials announced Monday.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on October 11 near Peoria Avenue and Loop 101, when Sanchez allegedly shot a woman in the leg while driving alongside her vehicle. He fled the scene but was arrested a few days later.
Sanchez faces multiple felony charges, including:
Drive-by Shooting (Class 2 Dangerous Felony)
Discharge of a Firearm at a Structure (Class 3 Dangerous Felony)
Two Counts of Aggravated Assault (Class 3 and Class 4 Dangerous Felonies)
Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm (Class 6 Dangerous Felony)
He is being held on a $250,000 cash bond and must pay the full amount to be released. His trial is currently scheduled for February 26, 2026.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell emphasized that her office will continue to pursue cases involving road rage and gun violence aggressively, noting the ongoing efforts to improve public safety across the Valley.
