Peoria Man Sentenced to 334 Years in Prison for Decades of Child Sexual Abuse

Maricopa County prosecutors say Mark Alan Rodman repeatedly assaulted multiple young relatives over two decades before victims bravely came forward.

A Peoria man has been sentenced to 334 years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing multiple children in his family over several decades, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) announced this week.

Mark Alan Rodman, 63, was found guilty in August of two counts of molestation of a child and 15 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, all classified as dangerous crimes against children. The crimes involved multiple victims—two of whom first came forward in 2021, reporting years of abuse that began when they were just 7 and 11 years old.

After their disclosures, a third family member contacted investigators, revealing that Rodman had sexually abused him between 1995 and 1999, starting when he was 11 years old.

“It takes an extraordinary amount of courage to speak up against an abuser, especially one who was meant to protect you,” said County Attorney Rachel Mitchell in a statement. “I commend the survivors for their bravery, and the prosecutors who worked tirelessly to achieve justice. May this moment be the first step in their journey toward healing.”

Under Arizona law, Rodman’s convictions required consecutive sentences, resulting in a combined 334-year prison term—effectively a life sentence without the possibility of release.

Prosecutors said the case underscores the importance of reporting abuse, even years later, and the dedication of investigators who ensure offenders are held accountable.
