Paraglider Found Dead at Scene of Prescott Valley Wildfire

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office investigating incident tied to early morning blaze

PHOENIX — A paraglider was found dead Friday morning at the site of a small wildfire in northern Arizona, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

According to the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, crews responded to a fire near Lakeshore Drive and Fain Road in Prescott Valley around 7:45 a.m. During the response, officials received information that a paragliding individual may have been involved in the incident.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, which was contained to a limited area. The paraglider was found deceased at the scene.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
