Outshine Cancer with Phoenix Children’s Hospital

This September, Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona will be lighting up in gold while making great strides to end pediatric cancer.  The Hospital hopes to raise at least $1 million during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month for its Time to Shine campaign.  The Time to Shine campaign’s donations will benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Phoenix Children’s.  The campaign is essential to all patients, including former patient, Sammy Cibulka, who attributes his miraculous health today to the dedication and positive attitudes of those surrounding him while he was being treated.

Sammy’s story started with a small shoulder pain that turned out to be so much more.  At the young age of 16, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma.  For the next year, he held on to a glowing positive attitude and his faith in his doctors and nurses.  Sammy underwent intense treatment at Phoenix Children’s, and as of February 2017 was told he is cancer-free.  Both he and his mother consider the Hospital’s care and encouragement to be a great blessing.

Phoenix Children’s was named Arizona’s Only Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News and World Report for its seventh consecutive year.  The Children’s Hospital’s mission is about embodying hope and healing—two things that they provided for young Sammy and continue to provide for many others who are suffering.  Each day, up to 90 patients are treated at the Hospital.  They all hope to have the same glowing outcome that Sammy did in the near future.

This September, Phoenix Children’s Hospital is asking for your generosity in continuing to provide the hope that they can one day outshine childhood cancer.  Your donations bring them one step closer to finding a cure as they continue to provide encouragement to their patients.  For more information on the campaign, please visit their website.
