PHOENIX — The ninth annual Italian Festival is set to take over Old Town Scottsdale’s Waterfront this weekend, offering attendees a delightful celebration of Italian culture. Hosted by the Italian Association of Arizona, the two-day event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, near Scottsdale and Camelback Roads.
This year’s theme, La Strada del Vino (The Street of Wine), will spotlight over 30 wines from various regions of Italy. “We’re delighted to bring more wines, vendors, and entertainment than ever before,” said Mickey Rao, president of the Italian Association of Arizona.
The festival is a family-friendly event featuring more than a dozen food vendors serving up authentic Italian dishes from local favorites like Pomo Pizzeria, Mamma Lucy, Aroma Culinary, and Marcellino Ristorante. Alongside the culinary delights, attendees can browse Italian souvenirs, including clothing, jewelry, artwork, and cooking products.
In addition to food and wine, festival-goers will be treated to a range of live performances. On the main stage, Italian soprano Ripalta Bufo, the Ziarella Folk Group from Campania, Italy, the Steve Ansel Band, and a duet by violinist Suzanne Lansford and pianist Nicole Pesce will provide musical entertainment. Smaller stages will host additional performances throughout the event.
Proceeds from the festival will support the development of a future Italian culture center, ensuring that Italian heritage continues to thrive in the community.
