SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – One of the world’s most elite polo players, Nic Roldan, is set to take the field once again at the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships, returning on Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Known for his speed, skill, and charisma, Roldan will lead the Aspen Valley Polo Team in the event’s highly anticipated matchup against the Napa Valley Polo Team.
This year’s competition will be a thrilling clash as Roldan, an eight-goal Argentine polo legend, joins forces with Melissa and Grant Ganzi to face off against Argentine six-goal player Manuel Crespo and his Napa Valley teammates, Vladimir Rivkin and Jared Sheldon. Last year, Roldan’s team earned top honors, and fans are eager to see if he can repeat that success in what is shaping up to be an electrifying rematch at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
“We always bring our A-game to the Polo Party, and this year will be no exception,” said Melissa Ganzi. “With Nic leading the charge, we expect nothing short of an unforgettable match against Napa Valley.”
Nic Roldan’s journey in polo began at age 15, when he became the youngest player to win the prestigious U.S. Open Polo Championship. A fourth-generation polo player, he has achieved global acclaim with victories on five continents, earning MVP titles and capturing major wins in Argentina’s Copa Camara de Diputados and the Cartier Queen’s Cup in Europe.
Outside of the polo field, Roldan’s philanthropic efforts are equally impressive. He co-founded Sunset Polo International, a nonprofit focused on child welfare and education about polo. He also supports several child-focused charities, including the Kids Cancer Foundation and The Boys & Girls Club. Additionally, Roldan’s business ventures extend to fashion, property development, and his sustainable spirits company, High Goal Luxury Gin.
“Scottsdale always delivers an amazing crowd,” said Roldan. “It’s an honor to compete here, and it’s more than just about the sport – it’s about the atmosphere and the people who make it special.”
In addition to Roldan’s match, ASU running back Cam Skattebo and head coach Kenny Dillingham will make a special appearance, performing the ceremonial ball drop before the signature match. ASU football has been riding high under Dillingham’s leadership, and their presence is set to add extra excitement to the day’s events.
New to this year’s Polo Championships is the introduction of “Polo After Dark,” featuring evening matches and an elegant Dinner Under the Stars in collaboration with the City of Scottsdale. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of experiences, from luxury cars and fashion shows to performances by DJ Jai Wolf and opera tenor James Valenti.
Gates open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, and tickets are available at ThePoloParty.com. Don’t miss your chance to witness one of the greatest polo players in the world in action, along with a day packed with thrilling events and unforgettable entertainment.
