Netflix’s ‘Chef’s Table: Pizza’ To Feature Phoenix Pizza Icon Chris Bianco

Netflix will premiere a new series this month and Arizona residents might recognize a familiar face.

Phoenix pizza icon Chris Bianco will be featured in the streaming services series called ‘Chef’s Table: Pizza’. Bianco, the award-winning Phoenix chef behind the Pizzeria Bianco and Tratto restaurants will be the main attraction for one of six episodes of “Chef’s Table: Pizza,” which the streaming giant will release on Sept. 7.

The long-running culinary hit returns with a season that’s all about the pizza pie. From Portland to Phoenix, Italy to Japan, the series will go inside the kitchens of chefs whose creativity elevates this ordinary dish to an art form via their unique flavors, inspiring backgrounds, and passion for creating the perfect slice.

Bianco is credited with popularizing the artisanal style of pizza that he introduced at a Phoenix grocery store in 1988. In 2003, he became the first pizza maker to win the prestigious James Beard Award for best chef. He added a second Beard honor in June of 2022, when he was named outstanding restaurateur. He now operates two Pizzeria Bianco locations in Phoenix and one in Los Angeles, in addition to Phoenix’s Tratto, Pane Bianco and Bar Bianco.
