Luncheon of Champions 2017 at Phoenix Art Museum

On Friday, March 24th, 2017 at 11:30 am, the annual Luncheon of Champions at the Phoenix Art Museum brings you two very special guests, two champions in their respective fields: Theo Epstein, President of Baseball operations for the Chicago Cubs, winners of the 2016 World Series, and Mike Wilbon, host of ESPN’s award-winning show Pardon the Interruption.

In previous years, guests such as the former Commissioner of Major League Baseball Bud Selig have shared their experiences and insights about the art of baseball. This year, participants will have the opportunity to hear a conversation between Theo Epstein and Mike Wilbon as they talk about what it means to be champions in their fields.

Admission to this event includes a perfect complement to a discussion about sports and art. Four Peaks Brewing Company, based in Tempe, Arizona, will provide beer samples and Santa Barbara Catering will be offering a ball-park inspired menu. Could it get better? Wonderful conversation, exquisitely prepared beer and professionally catered food? Yes, it could. Epstein and Wilbon will be available, after the event, for questions and photos.

Additionally, admission to the Luncheon includes free entry to Samurai: Armor from the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection, featuring exquisite warrior regalia from one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Samurai armor in the world.

Another exhibit, which falls in line with the theme of the event, a sports-themed art exhibition, will be available for guests to view during and after the event.

To date, The Luncheon of Champions has raised $300,000 which benefits Phoenix Art Museum’s exhibits and education funds. Bud Selig will be present at the March 24th Luncheon, so that the museum may honor him for his many contributions.

Tickets to the Luncheon start at $300 each, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Museum. Tickets at $350 include a one-year family membership to Phoenix Art Museum, offering unlimited admission to the Museum all year long at a savings of $40. Hosted table packages, which include admission to an exclusive meet and greet before the Luncheon with Epstein and Wilbon, begin at $5,000 for a party of ten.
