Scottsdale, Arizona (July 17, 2024) – In a significant operation against human trafficking, 42 individuals were arrested during a two-day sting in Scottsdale, Arizona. Conducted on July 12 and 13, the operation was led by the Scottsdale Police Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, focusing on apprehending sex buyers, child predators, and those involved in the sex trade. The sting was decoy-based, ensuring no children were directly involved.
The operation saw a robust collaboration with the Goodyear Police Department, Avondale Police Department, and Sunrise Police Department. This concerted effort highlights the ongoing commitment to tackling exploitation and trafficking within the community and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
Out of the 42 arrests, 11 were for felonies and 31 for misdemeanors. The charges included child sex trafficking, pandering, prostitution, drug possession, and various other criminal activities. This successful operation not only led to numerous arrests but also sent a strong message that such activities will not be tolerated in Scottsdale.
