‘Moving Wall’ Vietnam Memorial To Showcase In Phoenix Suburb

Following 4th of July Celebrations, Phoenix suburb Surprise is hosting a new Vietnam memorial. If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit Washington D.C., this is your chance to see a beautiful D.C. memorial.

Named the ‘Moving Wall’ this memorial will be on display for 5 days following the 4th of July. Beginning on July 5, the memorial will be showcased at Mark Coronado Park. It will be on display for free to the public and will stay until July 9. There will be both opening and closing ceremonies.

The Moving Wall is about 50% smaller than the original, and honors 58,000 names of service men and women that were killed or went missing during the Vietnam War.

If you’d like to be involved, the city is looking for volunteers to aid in the set up and removal of the wall. You can also volunteer to staff information and directory tables.

If you’d like to donate, you can give non-perishable foods and bottled waters for the memorial volunteers. For more information on the wall and how to volunteer click here or you can contact Steve Castillo at (623) 222 -2267.
