Mother Suspected in Murder-Suicide After Glendale Bar Shooting and Discovery of Two Children Dead

Police say a woman fatally shot her two children and herself after allegedly opening fire outside a Glendale bar early Monday morning.

Authorities in Glendale and Phoenix are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving a mother and her two children following an earlier shooting outside a sports bar.

According to the Glendale Police Department, officers initially responded just after midnight to Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill near 61st Avenue and Bell Road after reports of gunfire.

Investigators said a man told officers his wife, identified as 38-year-old Andrea Clarice Davis, arrived at the bar and began shooting at him before fleeing in a gray SUV.

During the shooting, a woman was struck in the back of the head. She was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Police said the husband later received threatening text messages from Davis indicating she intended to harm their children. Authorities learned she was believed to be at a residence near 49th Avenue and Paradise Lane in Phoenix with the couple’s children.

The Phoenix Police Department and Glendale police coordinated a response to the home. During that time, investigators said Davis allegedly sent the children’s father a photo showing one of the children suffering from a head wound.

Officers entered the residence and discovered Davis, a 10-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl dead from apparent gunshot wounds to the head.

Phoenix police are leading the investigation into the apparent murder-suicide, while Glendale detectives continue investigating the shooting outside the bar.
