Mexican Man Sentenced to Over 7 Years for Drug Conspiracy in Arizona

Authorities seized 40 kilos of fentanyl and 55 pounds of meth during 2024 bust

PHOENIX — A Mexican national has been sentenced to seven years and four months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges in connection with a drug trafficking case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona announced Friday.

German Montano-Peralta, 33, was sentenced to 88 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Authorities said Montano-Peralta was involved in a drug delivery operation that was intercepted in Tucson on April 30, 2024. Investigators recovered 40 kilograms of fentanyl powder and pills and over 55 pounds of methamphetamineduring the bust.

The case was prosecuted under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative, a collaborative effort to disrupt major criminal drug networks, particularly near the southern border.

No further details were released about Montano-Peralta’s role in the organization.
