Mesa Gateway Airport Shatters Records, Surpasses 2 Million Passengers

Valley’s second-busiest airport sets all-time highs in traffic and revenue

PHOENIX — Mesa Gateway Airport just wrapped up a historic fiscal year, surpassing two million passengers for the first time since launching commercial service in 2007, officials announced.

From July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, the airport broke records for passenger volume, operating revenue, net income, fuel sales, and parking revenue.

The growth solidifies Gateway’s role as a key transportation hub in the Valley, driven by travelers seeking access to Arizona’s outdoor attractions, entertainment, and hospitality, airport officials said.

In total, Gateway recorded:

  • Over 2 million passengers

  • $35.7 million in operating revenue

  • $5.4 million in net income

  • $10.1 million in fuel sales

  • $5.5 million in parking revenue

All profits will be reinvested into infrastructure projects, including phase two of a 10,000-foot runway reconstruction set to begin in October.

Gateway is served by Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines, flying to more than 40 U.S. destinations.

Originally established as a military airfield in 1941, Mesa Gateway has grown into one of the region’s top economic engines.
