Medieval Times Holds Open Casting Call For Knights

Medieval Times is offering a unique job opportunity to local residents.

When the Arizona Medieval Times opens the gates to its 79,000 square foot castle by this summer, they will need a whole cast of knights to compete in sword fighting and jousting, along with riding horses.

The role requires three months of training before one can perform as a knight. A whole host of skills must be learned before someone works at Medieval Times. Chapel Creek Ranch hosts the new knights at its 230-acre facility, allowing them to gain the skills that they need. They will learn everything from horseback riding to choreography during this time.

Medieval Times is not looking for those who have horseback riding experience, as most of their knights do not have any when they join the team. However, they should be comfortable around horses. Mostly, they are looking for individuals who are great with working as part of a team. Men who apply for this job must be at least 18 years old.

Women are unable to apply for the role of knight, but there will be a casting call for several roles for women at a later date.

Medieval Times’ casting call for knights will occur on Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. These auditions will take place at Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale Salt River. In order to apply, people must have a headshot and a resume prepared in time for the casting call. Medieval Times also asks that those who apply be able to pass a physical abilities test. They also must be available for the three month training in Dallas. It is also essential for those who are chosen as knights to be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
