MCSO Fraud Unit Arrests Two Suspects At RV Storage Facility, Underground Bunker With Weapons and Drugs Discovered

On October 25, 2022, MCSO Detectives with the General Crimes Division, Fraud Unit, served a search warrant on the Hole in One RV, Boat & Toy Storage, located at 8601 N. 143rd Ave. in Waddell.

The warrant, was in reference to an APS investigation spanning over a year, in which the owners of the property were suspected of supplying their business with stolen power from a nearby APS junction box. The owners, 61-year-old Laura Swink and her son, 35-year-old Steven Swink II, were taken into custody and booked into jail on felony theft of service charges, criminal damage and obtaining utilities fraudulently.

During the service of the warrant a large underground bunker with weapons and drugs was discovered on the property. The bunker consisted of several conex and semi truck boxes stacked together to construct a three level building equipped with scissor jack elevators and tunnel ladder systems.


Inside the bunker there appeared to be several chemical containers, bags of unknown powder, and cylinders of compressed gases, requiring the assistance of MCSO’s Special Investigations Division. MCDST detectives responded, utilized proper safety equipment, completed an assessment and determined the bunker was safe as constructed. During the assessment, illegal drugs and firearms were seen in plain view.
