Mattamy Homes, a large privately owned homebuilder, has appointed Harry Lourimore president of it is Phoenix Division.

Lourimore will oversee Mattamy’s land acquisition and development, marketing, sales and construction in the metro Phoenix market.

“Along with extensive business and people-management skills, Harry’s background will serve Mattamy well as we continue with a significant and exciting growth plan in Phoenix,” said Jim Leiferman, president of Mattamy’s US Group. “We’re very excited to have an individual with Harry’s experience and knowledge joining us and look forward to him taking the reins for Mattamy Homes in Phoenix.”

Lourimore has more than 20 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, most of it in the Phoenix market. Previously, Mattamy he worked for K. Hovnanian Homes as the Arizona Division president, overseeing the company’s Phoenix operations and delivering more than 500 homes a year for the market’s sixth-largest builder.

He was a senior land acquisition executive for KB Homes and worked for the Land Advisors Organization, one of the largest U.S. brokerage companies focused exclusively on land. 

Lourimore has degrees in anthropology and history as well as a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from Arizona State University. 

He also serves on the board of directors of the Home Builder’s Association of Central Arizona.

Lourimore said he is looking forward to leading the Phoenix Division of Mattamy Homes.

“I’ve been watching Mattamy from a distance for the past several years and I’ve been impressed by the company’s growth trajectory, the strength of the brand, its commitment to quality, and the corporate culture,” he said.

Mattamy Homes, based in Orlando, has operations across the United States and Canada and has sold more than 70,000 homes in 160 communities. 

Its U.S. operations are in Tucson, Phoenix, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Charlotte, N.C., and the Florida cities of Jacksonville, Tampa, Sarasota, Naples and Orlando.
