Officers arrived to find the victim alone at the scene with life-threatening injuries — he later died at a hospital.

A man is dead following an early-morning shooting in Glendale on Friday that left police with few immediate leads and a closed stretch of roadway as investigators worked the scene.

Officers responded just before 4 a.m. to the area of 59th and Missouri avenues, located between Camelback and Bethany Home roads, and found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died. No other individuals were present when officers arrived.

Glendale police closed the stretch of 59th Avenue between Missouri and Oregon avenues while the investigation got underway. No further details about the victim, a suspect or a possible motive have been released.
