Man Seriously Injured in Scottsdale Hit-and-Run Collision

Driver fled after striking pedestrian early Sunday morning near Scottsdale Rd. and Third Ave.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A man was hospitalized in serious condition following a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in downtown Scottsdale, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Third Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the man injured in the roadway. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the man was crossing westbound on Scottsdale Road at Third Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

The roadway was closed for four hours, from 2:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., as authorities investigated the scene.
