PHOENIX — A man involved in the 2023 beating death of Jake Kelly in Phoenix was sentenced Friday to eight years in prison.
Angel Mullooly was one of three individuals arrested in connection to Kelly’s death, which occurred in August 2023. He was initially charged with second-degree murder but reached a plea deal last month and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
A judge handed down the eight-year sentence during Friday’s hearing. Mullooly will receive credit for time he has already served behind bars.
No further details about the roles of the other two individuals involved were immediately available.
