Man Involved in Drug Trafficking Organization Sentenced to Prison

Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Vidal Sillas-Burgos, aka Guero, was sentenced to prison on April 7 for his involvement in a drug trafficking organization.

On June 21, 2021, police concluded an 18-month-long investigation involving Sillas-Burgos. Sillas-Burgos was responsible for directing individuals in the transportation and distribution of illegal drugs, namely fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and heroin. Sillas-Burgos was also responsible for overseeing the collection and distribution of illegal drug proceeds.

The approximate total of drugs recovered during this investigation includes 147 pounds of methamphetamine, 130,400 fentanyl pills, and ΒΌ pound of heroin. Investigators also recovered approximately $61,000 in illegal drug proceeds.


Sillas-Burgos pleaded guilty to one count of Illegal Control of an Enterprise, a Class 3 Felony, and two counts of Transportation of a Dangerous Drug (Methamphetamine) For Sale, both Class 2 Felonies. On April 7, 2022, a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge sentenced Sillas-Burgos to 8 calendar years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for Counts 5 and 10. Sillas-Burgos was also sentenced to 3.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for Count 2, which will run concurrently with his 8-year prison sentence.
