Authorities are investigating a violent incident in Peoria’s Vistancia community after a man was stabbed and shot early Monday morning.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to an area near Sunrise Point and Ridgeline Road, east of Vistancia Boulevard, where they found a victim suffering from both gunshot and stab wounds.
The injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment. Details regarding his condition were not immediately released.
Police said the suspect had already left the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the attack and are attempting to locate the individual responsible.
Preliminary information suggests the suspect and victim were acquainted, though authorities have not yet confirmed the nature of their relationship.
