Man Fatally Stabbed Near Arizona Capitol Complex

Police Investigating Suspect’s Involvement in Weekend Incident

PHOENIX, AZ — A man was stabbed to death near the Arizona Capitol complex over the weekend, prompting an ongoing investigation by Phoenix police.

What Happened?

Officers responded to a stabbing call at a bus stop near 15th Avenue and Jefferson Street shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found 43-year-old Walter MacDonald suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Was Anyone Arrested?

A man at the scene admitted involvement in the stabbing, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower.

“Officers contacted a man at the scene who acknowledged his involvement with the stabbing,” Bower said in a statement. “Detectives responded to the scene, and after speaking with witnesses and being provided statements from the man, he was released pending further investigation.”

Ongoing Investigation
