A man was found dead from an apparent stab wound in the front yard of a Phoenix home early Saturday morning following what police believe was a domestic dispute.
Officers responded to a call around 3:20 a.m. near Indian School Road and 44th Street, where they discovered 50-year-old Erick Michael Chapman suffering from a fatal injury. Fire crews arrived shortly after and pronounced Chapman dead at the scene, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Police detained another man at the home who admitted to being involved in the altercation. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, investigators said. After being treated, the man was questioned at police headquarters and later released pending further investigation.
Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the stabbing, and no arrests have been announced.
The case remains under active investigation.
