PHOENIX — Phoenix police have charged 24-year-old Alex David Neriz with making terrorist threats against a hotel and an elementary school on February 21 and February 24.
Details of the Threats
On February 21, officers responded to a distress call from an unnamed Phoenix hotel, where Neriz allegedly threatened to kill multiple people inside the building. Upon arrival, police secured the area and launched an investigation.
Three days later, Phoenix police were alerted to another threat—this time, targeting an elementary school. The school was placed on lockdown while officers conducted a thorough search. After securing the area, authorities determined the school was safe.
Arrest and Charges
Neriz was arrested by Tempe police two days after the second threat and later confessed during interviews with detectives. He has been charged with multiple counts of making terrorist threats.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
