PHOENIX — A 38-year-old man was arrested Friday after allegedly stabbing his 73-year-old roommate to death at a home in north Phoenix, according to police.
Officers responded around 11:45 a.m. to a report of “unknown trouble” near 35th Street and Campo Bello Drive. Upon arrival, they found Jack Olsen on the floor with multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Suspect fled scene, found nearby
A witness told officers that Daniel Kohls, the victim’s roommate, stabbed Olsen before fleeing the area on foot. Police located Kohls shortly after at a nearby park and took him into custody without incident.
Charges and ongoing investigation
Kohls was booked on murder charges after being interviewed by detectives. Authorities said they do not believe there are additional suspects involved.
The case remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
