Man Arrested at State Farm Stadium for Impersonating Officer Ahead of Charlie Kirk Memorial

Authorities say the suspect carried a gun and knife inside the venue as security prepares for a massive crowd and VIP attendees.

A man was taken into custody Friday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale after allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer and bringing weapons into a restricted area ahead of Charlie Kirk’s memorial service.

According to reports from ABC15 and Fox News, the man claimed to be an officer when approached by the U.S. Secret Service. He was found carrying both a firearm and a knife inside the stadium before being detained.

“The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed,” Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody.”

The Glendale Police Department is leading the investigation in coordination with the Secret Service, which has been on-site preparing for the arrival of President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. Both are expected to attend Kirk’s memorial on Sunday.

Officials estimate as many as 100,000 people will gather at the stadium for the service honoring Kirk, the conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA who was assassinated in Utah earlier this month.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or potential motive.
