PHOENIX — A man accused of sexually abusing children while working as a caregiver has been extradited to Arizona after nearly a decade on the run, Chandler police said.
Ciro Soberanes Moedano, who fled to Mexico during a 2016 investigation, is now in custody and facing charges of child molestation and sexual abuse.
According to authorities, Soberanes Moedano allegedly targeted vulnerable children in his care. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, he was located in Mexico and transported back to Chandler to face charges.
A judge set his cash bond at $500,000. No further details about the case or the investigation were immediately released.
