‘Live PD’ to Return This Summer After Hiatus

In the summer of 2020, amid nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd, the popular cable show “Live PD” was put on hiatus. For those who watched the live weekly action as police officers from all over the country patrolled, the return of the show was unknown.

Show host Dan Abrams announced Wednesday on his Twitter account that the show will return to TV this summer under a new name. The show’s working title is “On Patrol: Live.”

“Live PD,” aired on the network channel A&E, aired with a minor delay and gave viewers a glimpse of police interactions with the public. During its time, it was one of the top-rated cable shows.

“I have been patiently waiting and quietly advocating, but it was a question of finding the right partner,” Abrams recently told the Wall Street Journal.

On Patrol: Live will run on A&E on Friday and Saturdays.
