The owners of a popular Phoenix restaurant recently announced their intentions of opening a second location in the Walgreens Center at the northeast corner of 7th Street and Townley Avenue in Sunnyslope. The original Little Miss Barbecue, located at 4301 E. University Dr in Phoenix, has garnered a substantial following around the Valley and even provides customers with an option to place Pre–Orders for its products. Some popular menu items include
- The Jefe Sandwich-Sausage with choice of chopped brisket, pulled pork or turkey with sauce, slaw & pickles.
- Meat by Weight-Brisket, chopped brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, turkey and sausage.
- Dessert-Bekke’s Smoked Pecan Pie.
According to its website, “Little Miss BBQ specializes in Central Texas style barbecue, served meat market style—meaning, all of the freshly barbecued meats are served by weight in butcher paper with onions, pickles, jalapenos and white bread. The meats are cooked using Arizona oak and pecan wood in massive offset Camelback Smokers.”
The founders of Little Miss BBQ, Scott and Bekke Holme, first started as a competitive barbecue team traveling around the state of Arizona.
