Law Firm Revamps Iconic Phoenix Bar into Modern Office Space

Withey Morris Baugh to retain historic elements of former Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill in innovative new office

PHOENIX – The former Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill, which closed its doors in February after 18 years, is being transformed into office space for Withey Morris Baugh, a prominent Arizona land use law firm. Expected to complete the transformation by spring 2025, the project is located at 2121 East Highland Avenue and is part of the WaterView property, acquired from investment firm Holualoa Companies.

As an ode to the property’s history, Withey Morris Baugh plans to preserve elements of the bar, including the original bar top, blending the firm’s modern workspace needs with a nod to the venue’s Chicago sports roots. This repurposing comes as part of a broader revitalization of WaterView, which includes new shaded meeting spaces, a putting green, and a reimagined boardwalk surrounding a two-acre lake.

“We’re anything but traditional attorneys,” said founding partner Jason Morris, emphasizing the importance of creating a unique workspace that embodies the firm’s zoning and land-use expertise.

Holualoa Companies views the project as an ideal fit for WaterView’s evolving profile as a sought-after destination, countering broader market trends with premium amenities that appeal to today’s professionals.
