Latest 2017 Commitments To The Waste Management Phoenix Open

The Waste Management (WM) Phoenix Open, or “The Greatest Show on Grass,” has announced some of the golfers that will tee off from January 30th to February 5th. TPC Scottsdale will be holding the tournament with over 130 players participating for a purse worth over $6 million, with the first-place winner receiving over $1.2 million and an added incentive with 500 points for the FedExCup.

Phil Mickelson, a three-time Waste Management Phoenix Open winner, Brooks Koepka, the 2015 winner, Rickie Fowler, runner-up two times, and Patrick Reed, a winner of five PGA Tour events, will all partake in the WM Phoenix Open.

Mickelson is one of four players ever to have won this event three separate times (1996, 2005, and 2013). With 42 PGA Tour wins, Mickelson recorded top-10 finishes six different times in 2016. Also, Mickelson has totaled almost $4 million by participating in the WM Phoenix Open 27 times.

Koepka continued to have a strong 2016 campaign by finishing in the top-ten seven different times, and was the runner-up at the St. Jude Classic and AT&T Byron Nelson tournaments. Currently, he is ranked 16th in the world.

Fowler was so close to winning the WM Phoenix Open in 2016, losing in a four-hole playoff toe Hideki Matsuyama. Rickie is ranked 12th in the world and earned eight top-10 performances.

Reed is one of the highest ranked players participating in the WM Phoenix Open at eighth in the world. He totaled top-ten finishes eleven times in 2016, and he was a part of the victorious 2016 Ryder Cup team with Mickelson, Koepka, and Fowler. This will be the third time Reed has participated in the WM Phoenix Open.
