Larry Fitzgerald and Carson Palmer to Return to Cardinals

The uncertainty of two of Arizona’s dynamic offensive stars returning for another season after not yet taking home the Lombardi trophy has been settled. Word got out last week that Larry Fitzgerald would be returning to the Arizona Cardinals for the 2017 season with the future hall of famer confirming by tweeting simply: #BirdGang #BeRedSeeRed.

Despite the Cardinal’s lackluster 7-8-1 season, the 33-year-old Fitzgerald was business as usual leading the NFL with 107 receptions for 1,023 yards and 6 touchdowns. Fitzgerald is due to make $11 million in 2017.

With Fitzgerald returning it was more likely that Carson Palmer would play for another season. Breaking news from azcardinals.com confirmed that, as Palmer informed team president Michael Bidwill that he too would play in the upcoming 2017 season.

The veteran quarterback completed 364 passes for 4,233 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Palmer is due to make $17.5 million in 2017.
