Kia Issues Recall on More Than 400K Vehicles For Air Bag Concerns

Kia recently issued a recall of 410,619 vehicles over concern that their air bags may not deploy as intended.

The recall includes the following Kia vehicles made between 2017 and 2019: Sedonas, Souls, Soul EVs, Fortes and Forte Koup.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Kia dealers will inspect the vehicles and make necessary repairs.


Kia initiated the recall after receiving 13 customer complaints and nearly 1,000 warranty claims.

Owners with the specific recalled vehicles will receive a letter after March 21, 2022.  There will be no charge to customers to repair the concern.

As of now, Kia has not received any reports of injuries or deaths due to the malfunctioning air bags.
