Ryman Hospitality Properties set to purchase city’s largest resort in major real estate deal

PHOENIX — The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, the largest resort in Phoenix, is being sold for $865 million, according to a new announcement from Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc.

Ryman, a Nashville-based real estate investment trust known for owning lodging and entertainment venues like the Grand Ole Opry, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the 950-room luxury resort located in north Phoenix.

Despite the ownership change, the resort will continue to be operated by Marriott International under the JW Marriottbrand.

Ryman says it expects the deal to close later this quarter or in Q3 2025, making it one of the largest recent hotel acquisitions in the region.
