PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating the deaths of two Arizona Rangers — a husband and wife — who were found shot in their home in the northern Arizona town of Taylor on Sunday.
Troy Templeton, 62, and Cynthia Templeton, 53, were discovered by Snowflake-Taylor police officers during a welfare check after neighbors noticed their front door was open.
Both were active members of the Arizona Rangers, a volunteer law enforcement support organization that assists federal, state, and local agencies.
The incident has deeply affected the small community in Navajo County, about 180 miles northeast of Phoenix.
“Our hearts go out to the loved ones of Troy and Cynthia during this incredibly difficult time,” said Police Chief Robert Martin. “The senseless violence that took their lives has no place in our community.”
Snowflake-Taylor detectives are working with multiple agencies, including Arizona DPS and the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office. Police said they are following several strong leads and ask anyone with information to contact them at 928-536-7500.
