Hurricane Harbor Will Undertake Huge Expansion Next Summer

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Glendale is planning an expansion for Summer of 2020.

Their 35-acre water park is already the biggest in the state of Arizona. The theme park announced on Thursday that they will add another 42,000 square feet with new lounge seating and restrooms.

The main attraction will be the Paradise Island activity pool. It is projected to be 12,000 square feet and contain 257,000 gallons of water. There will be floating lily pads to walk across, volleyball areas, and a pool basketball court.

“We are committed to offering thrilling, new experiences that can be shared with family and friends,” General Manager Donald Spiller said in a press release. “Paradise Island will feature multiple new water play activities and relaxing water fun; it’s sure to be a favorite destination for guests of all ages.”

Hurricane Harbor was known as Wet n’ Wild until earlier this year when it was purchased by Six Flags.

If you are interested in experiencing the expansion as soon as it opens, season passes for 2020 are on sale now.

Hurricane Harbor has over 30 rides and attractions, including North America’s first gravity-defying dueling water coaster.
