Here’s What to Know Before Heading to the APS Electric Light Parade on Dec. 6

Phoenix’s beloved holiday tradition returns with glowing floats, marching bands and a festive crowd

The 38th annual APS Electric Light Parade will brighten Phoenix streets this Saturday, Dec. 6, bringing thousands of spectators out for one of the city’s most popular holiday events. The parade steps off at 7 p.m. and runs for about 90 minutes, featuring illuminated floats, performers, marching bands and a special guest to close the night. This year’s theme, “Let It Glow,” promises an extra dose of sparkle.

Parade Route

  • Start: Central Ave. & Montebello Ave.

  • End: Seventh St. & Indian School Rd.

Road Closures

  • Central Ave.: Camelback Rd. → Bethany Home Rd.

  • Seventh St.: Indian School Rd. → Osborn Rd.

  • Camelback Rd.: First Ave. → Seventh St.

Before You Go

  • The event is free and family-friendly.

  • It’s a rain-or-shine parade — dress for the weather.

  • Street parking only; organizers recommend taking light rail and walking to the route.

  • Viewing spots are first-come, first-served; arrive early for the best visibility.

  • Coolers, snacks and nonalcoholic drinks are allowed; no alcohol or glass.

  • Bring chairs and blankets — temperatures can drop after dark.

  • Stay behind barricades and follow directions from police and event staff.
