Help “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive

The largest food drive in the United States is once again coming to your mailbox.

The drive, which takes place on May 11, will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank and other Arizona Food Banks.

Over 5,000 mail carriers will be pick up canned food while they are on their regular mail routes. It’s called the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) “Stamp out Hunger” Food Drive, and it started more than 40 years ago.

Mail carriers will be putting postcards in mailboxes to remind residents on the food drive.

Items needed include: canned fruit and vegetables, soups, meals in a can, pasta, peanut butter, tuna, rice and cereal.
