Harlem Globetrotters Offer Free Tickets To Teachers Valley-Wide

The world famous Harlem Globetrotters announced that the team is offering complimentary game tickets to Valley-area school teachers to one of their upcoming performances in the Phoenix area. The team will bring their 2019 Fan Powered World Tour to Gila River Arena on Friday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. and Talking Stick Resort Arena on Saturday, Aug. 24 at noon and 5 p.m.

“With a new school year underway, we want to show our appreciation to teachers for educating our youth and all they do for our communities,” said Harlem Globetrotter Scooter Christensen.

Scooter will announce the complimentary ticket initiative at AmeriSchools Academy in Phoenix located at 1333 W Camelback Road on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 1:30 p.m. The announcement will be paired with a new school presentation to students called, “T.E.A.M. Up at School.” Media is welcome to attend.

The new school program aims at providing students, ages 6-12 years old, with bullying solutions through the acronym T.E.A.M. – Talk, Empathize, Ask, and Mobilize, while utilizing the Globetrotters’ signature ball handling skills and humor for a presentation that informs and entertains. This program was designed in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence.

Any Valley-area teacher can show a valid teacher ID at their local box office and receive a complimentary ticket to one of the Harlem Globetrotter games in the Phoenix-area through Saturday, Aug. 24, while supplies last. Fans are asked to check with their local box office for details.
