A wave of new affordable housing has come online in the West Valley, with Dominium completing 857 income-restricted apartments across three developments serving both families and seniors. Two of the communities opened in Goodyear and a third in Marana, marking one of the region’s largest recent additions to its affordable housing stock.
The units are reserved for households earning below 60% of the area median income, a threshold that aims to keep rents attainable for residents squeezed by years of rapid price increases. Early leasing activity shows strong demand, with many apartments already spoken for shortly after opening.
Local housing advocates say the quick uptake underscores how urgently the region needs more income-restricted options as Maricopa County continues to grow. Dominium’s projects add a meaningful number of units at a time when affordability remains one of the top challenges facing Arizona renters.
