Fun in the Sun, Salt River Tubing To Open April 30

Time for some fun in the sun! The temperatures are starting to heat up and that means the Salt River Tubing season is almost here.
Salt River Tubing’s season opens on Saturday, April 30th.  Operational hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The last shuttle pick up time is 6:30pm

If you plan to go, there are some important, helpful information you should know.

Salt River Tubing headquarters is located at 9200 N Bush Hwy Mesa, AZ 85215.


The cost to tube the river is $21 + tax per person. This includes shuttle service to and from.  If you have your own tube and just require shuttle service, the cost is $19.

Children must meet both requirements of being at least eight years or older and four feet tall to tube the river. Life vests are recommended for all children and those who do consider themselves inexperienced swimmers.

Glass containers are prohibited by law in the Salt River Recreational Area. They will not be allowed on the bus, nor on the river. Please bring only plastic or can containers.

One valid driver’s license is required for every 5 tubes rented as a deposit.

Recommended Items Tubers Should Bring on their Trip Down the River:

  • Life vest (recommended for children, non-swimmers, and inexperienced swimmers)
  • Tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Driver’s license
  • Cash, debit or credit card
  • Ice chests and coolers with plastic cans or bottles
  • Hat or visor
  • Food, snacks and water. Salt River Tubing recommends 1 to 2 bottles of water per hour “to help prevent dehydration.”
