Free Document Shred-A-Thon & Prescription Drug Take-Back Community Event This Weekend in Prescott

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO), Prescott Police Department, and the City of Prescott are hosting a FREE Shred-a-Thon and Prescription Drug Take-Back community event this Saturday, June 18th in Prescott.   Last year, the AGO assisted in helping local Arizona communities destroy 162,750 pounds of sensitive documents and dispose of nearly 780 pounds of unwanted prescriptions drugs.

There is no need to leave your car!  The public can stay in their vehicle and is asked to place documents requiring shredding in the trunk of their car prior to arriving.

There is a five-box max limit for shredded documents.
Examples of items not accepted (but not limited to): binders, binder clips, electronics, liquids, aerosols, needles, or hydrogen peroxide.

When: Saturday, June 18th, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until trucks are full).
Where: Pioneer Park, 1200 Commerce Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305
Why: Shredding your personal or sensitive documents is an important step to protecting your identity and your financial information.

Properly disposing of old prescription drugs is key to keeping opioids and other dangerous medications out of the hands of youth and reducing the risks of abuse.
