PHOENIX — Four men accused of attacking former Phoenix Coyotes player Paul Bissonnette during a confrontation at a Scottsdale restaurant last year have been formally indicted, officials announced Friday.
A Maricopa County grand jury indicted Sean Michael Daley, Danny Bradley, John Gerrard Carroll, and Henry Peter Mesker on January 17, charging each with aggravated assault, a class 6 felony, and disorderly conduct, a class 1 misdemeanor.
According to the indictment, the men caused physical injury to Bissonnette “while his capacity to resist was substantially impaired.” The disorderly conduct charges stem from the group allegedly engaging in violent and disruptive behavior during the incident.
What Happened?
The altercation occurred on November 24, 2024, at Houston’s restaurant near McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road. Bissonnette, now an NHL analyst, said he was dining when he witnessed some of the men harassing the restaurant manager.
“I walked over and told them to knock it off — next thing I know, four guys are swinging at me,” Bissonnette recalled on his Spittin’ Chiclets podcast. The fight escalated into the parking lot and sent Bissonnette to the hospital.
Two other men were initially arrested but were not indicted. The case is set for trial this summer, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
