Four Injured in New Year’s Eve Stabbing During Mesa Apartment Brawl

A late-night fight involving multiple people at a Mesa apartment complex ended with four victims suffering stab wounds as police continue investigating the violent altercation.

A New Year’s Eve celebration in Mesa took a violent turn late Wednesday night when a fight at a local apartment complex left four people stabbed, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Officers were called to the complex near Gilbert and Broadway roads around 11:40 p.m. after reports of a “large disturbance.” When they arrived, they found four adults suffering from a range of injuries caused by what police described as an “edged weapon.” One victim had a puncture wound to the chest, while three others sustained deep cuts.

All four individuals were treated for their injuries, authorities confirmed. Police detained ten people at the scene to gather witness statements, but all were later released as investigators continued piecing together what happened.

Early findings suggest that several people had been drinking before a verbal argument escalated into a physical brawl, drawing in others from different parts of the complex. Mesa PD spokesperson John Dreyer said that despite multiple interviews, officers have not yet determined who initiated the fight.

While no arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon, police emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.

The investigation remains active as detectives work to identify the individuals responsible for the stabbings. Updates will be shared as new information becomes available through Mesa Police Department’s official channels.
