Ramon Godoy Faces Multiple Charges After Assault on Female Officer

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has announced the indictment of Ramon Godoy (DOB: 05/91) on three felony counts related to the sexual assault of a female correctional officer at Lewis Prison.

According to the indictment, on July 7th, Godoy instructed the victim to meet him inside a gymnasium at the prison. Once there, he held her in a chokehold and sexually abused her. The victim, who sustained bodily injuries during the attack, bravely reported the crime to law enforcement immediately after the incident.

“This defendant betrayed the trust between colleagues and committed a heinous act in a place meant to be secure,” said County Attorney Rachel Mitchell. “Being a sworn correctional officer does not grant immunity from the law, and such abuse will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.”

The indictment was issued on July 17, detailing the following charges against Godoy:

  • One count of Kidnapping, a Class Two Felony
  • One count of Sexual Abuse, a Class Five Felony
  • One count of Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault, a Class Three Felony
