100,000-square-foot facility to create jobs, expand aviation workforce training

PHOENIX — FlightSafety International announced plans to open a new aviation training center at Mesa Gateway Airport, expanding the company’s presence in Arizona.

The 100,000-square-foot Mesa Learning Center will be equipped with full-flight simulators and other advanced training devices to serve aviation professionals. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for October, with the facility expected to open in early 2028.

“This expansion is a reflection of FlightSafety’s continued growth and long-term investment in the future of aviation training and safety,” said Barbara Telek, FlightSafety International president, in a press release.

Economic and workforce impact

The new center is projected to create around 100 jobs and will be used to train pilots, maintenance technicians, and cabin crews, among others. Company officials say the center will serve thousands of aviation professionals each year.

“As global demand rises, we’re scaling our operations to support our customers and advance the highest standards of safety and preparedness,” Telek added. “The new Mesa Learning Center strengthens our ability to deliver world-class training while supporting the aviation workforce in Arizona and across the industry.”

Expanding Arizona presence

FlightSafety International operates training centers worldwide, including another Arizona site — the Tucson Learning Center. The Mesa project builds on ongoing investments in the region’s growing aviation sector.
