Flagstaff Police Investigating Fatal Train Incident, Urge Public to Follow Railroad Safety Guidelines

43-Year-Old Man from Kayenta Identified as Victim in Train-Pedestrian Collision

Flagstaff, AZ – On September 14, 2024, at approximately 5:50 PM, officers from the Flagstaff Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train near the intersection of Industrial Ave and Huntington Dr. The incident was initially reported by BNSF Railway employees.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Earl Daw, 43, of Kayenta, AZ, deceased at the scene. The Flagstaff Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Authorities remind the public that it is both unlawful and dangerous for pedestrians to be on railroad tracks except at designated crossings. The Flagstaff Police Department urges everyone to use railroad crossings safely and follow all safety guidelines to prevent such incidents.
