Escaped Inmate Captured After Fleeing Tucson Prison

TUCSON, AZ — Escaped inmate Elijah Palmer has been recaptured after being reported missing early Saturday morning from the Arizona State Prison Complex-Tucson, authorities confirmed.

Palmer, housed in the minimum-security Whetstone Unit, was found unaccounted for during a routine check at approximately 4:00 a.m., according to a statement from the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Prison officials immediately enacted escape protocols and notified local law enforcement agencies to aid in the search.

The Arizona Department of Corrections, in coordination with the Department of Public Safety and other law enforcement teams, launched an extensive search operation.
