Looking to add someone special to your family? Through the weekend, the Arizona Humane Society is temporarily waiving adoption fees for dogs 6 months and older.

Fees will be waived now through Monday at two Maricopa County Animal Care and Control locations in the Valley.

To adopt, visit the west shelter in Phoenix located at 2500 S. 27th Ave. or the east shelter in Mesa located at 2630 W. Rio Salado Pkwy.

Prospective owners are able to schedule an appointment, walk in or even arrange a curbside appointment.

The “Empty the Shelters” event is sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation. The organization’s mission is to get animals a home as shelters continue to be overstrained.

It is estimated since the beginning of Empty the Shelters started in 2016, more than 140,000 pets nationwide and in Canada have found their forever homes.
