Authorities in Arizona have arrested a 19-year-old East Valley resident following a lengthy investigation into allegations of harassment and online exploitation involving a minor.
According to the Gilbert Police Department, Elijah Deshong was taken into custody Wednesday and booked on more than 30 charges tied to incidents reported over the past year. Officials say the case involves repeated harassment, unauthorized access to social media accounts, and the distribution of explicit images of a juvenile victim.
Court documents outline a series of alleged offenses, including computer tampering, unlawful disclosure of images, sexual exploitation of a minor, and aggravated harassment. A judge set Deshong’s bond at $500,000.
Investigators began building the case after receiving multiple reports between March 2025 and March 2026. While authorities have not disclosed the victim’s age, records indicate that Deshong is accused of violating a protective order and continuing contact despite legal restrictions.
Detectives also uncovered evidence suggesting the suspect manipulated the victim’s online accounts and shared explicit photos and videos without consent. During the investigation, officials reportedly connected the case to an earlier inquiry by the Mesa Police Department involving a separate teenage victim in 2021.
To establish probable cause, investigators executed more than 20 search warrants over the course of the probe. The case remains under review as prosecutors determine the next steps.
